Our ECC Specialist Dr. Christine Lovett discusses the urgent need for blood donations from our furry friends.
Just like humans, pets can face serious health challenges like trauma, illness, or infections, requiring life-saving blood transfusions. Unfortunately, there is no national blood bank for pets, and supplies are running critically low across the state.
We rely on community volunteers to help keep our pet blood banks stocked and ensure that every pet in need can receive the blood they require.
How Can You Help?
If your pet is healthy, enjoys visits to the vet, and meets certain criteria (age, weight, and no long-term medication), they could be the perfect donor! Your furry family member could literally save another pet’s life.
Together, we can make a difference. Watch the full interview to learn more about how your pet can help.
