Dr Sandra Martig Dr.vet.med DipECVDI is a registered specialist in Veterinary Radiology. She provides advanced diagnostic imaging services including ultrasonography, computed tomography, radiographic and MRI interpretation.
Sandra graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bern, Switzerland. At the same institution, she completed a rotating internship followed by specialist training in veterinary diagnostic imaging. During her residency training, Sandra conducted research on advanced imaging of stifle joint disease in dogs.
She became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (Dip ECVDI) in 2007 and has worked as a radiologist in private practice in France, the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Zurich and the University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital. Sandra was Lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Melbourne for 3 years, where she began a PhD focusing on subchondral bone injuries in racehorses.
Sandra has a strong interest in pathology and how it reflects in different imaging modalities. She is fascinated by the wealth of information that is hidden in a simple plain radiographic study and enjoys assisting the team at CARE with all imaging modalities to help optimise patient care and outcome.
